I just had a yummy chicken tequila fettuccine for lunch at California Pizza Kitchen across the street and now paying for it with nausea. Urrggghhhh…did I not know this was coming?! At the least, I had a nice lunch date with a dear friend and kids were all over our conversations. It’s hard not to talk about them when our lives are so much filled with them…in good ways of course. I enjoyed every minute of these chats especially with friends who are mommies. Being a parent is an amazingly difficult task and granted no one has all the answers but being able to open our minds to what other parents have done is a good move. No doubt, it usually takes more than one way for us parents to get out of kid-situations mentally sane. Or if it works the first time, it may not work the second time so best to take in all the tricks we can get.
However, this time I actually learned what challenges may come with two kids in the house verses one kid. For example, letting one child cry him/herself out is no longer an option if the other child cannot be bothered and needs its rest for school the next day. Or the simple fact that both kids need attention at the same time after work and there’s only so much one parent can provide.
Thanks Joy for your insights. We’ll be thinking about these dilemmas and please let us know if you’ve figured something that works :oD

I enjoyed it tons too...that's why I forgot the Christmas card I had prepared for you in my purse...I'll have to buzz you down later.
ReplyDeleteThanks for keeping me sane too. We certainly need to do it more often. When I figure out what works, I hope Noelle won't be in college already...
