First Appointment

We went to our second first (uh ya) baby appointment yesterday at South Kaiser. We were expecting to only fill out paperwork like we did for Katie’s first appt except the receptionist said we're going to see a doctor who will perform an ultrasound. Woo hoo!! Having an ultrasound at the very first appt is a new thing to make sure there is a baby alive and well before they continue on with scheduling appointments. Apparently, a significant amount of couples are not as fortunate.

And so, our little souvenir is below. We thought I was 7 and half weeks but turns out we're a little earlier at 6 weeks and 1 day (as of 11/30/09), have to thank my odd menstral cycle for the week difference.  The munchkin is very tiny measured at 4.7mm in not much of a human form; however, it has a strong heartbeat which is all that matters at this point. 


I'm doing ok with all too familar feelings...nausea pretty much constantly throughout the day, fatigue , and frequent visits to the toliet. My next appointment is in early January for more ultrasound pixs and a complete physical on mommy and baby. Oh, I also got poked yesterday. Blood draws are never fun but good to know I don't have any weird disease...again.

In case you guys are wondering, we're still keeping the news low key and telling friends and family as we see them in person.
