I suppose a post on this little one is a bit overdue. I remember I had the same writer's block with Katie around the same time I was pregnant with her. There really doesn't seem to be much eventful stuff to report except that I can definitely feel the baby growing bigger and stronger everyday. Evidently, I can feel the stretching on the side of my body and my clothes are getting tighter by the day. Not to mention, this little bugger is packing harder bunches after each feeding and it's screaming for my attention to take notice. Unlike Katie at around this time in her development, this little one is in fact punching verses 'swimming' like his sister did. With Katie, I would see monstrous waves on my belly whenever she moved as if her legs or elbow was moving along the inner walls of my tummy. In contrast, this one seems to kick himself out of this pouch and join the party at all times during the day and night. Could this be a sign that we're in for an active baby who doesn't like to sleep as much as his big sister did? Well, we'll be ready for him, that's for sure.
A few people have asked us about a name for our son. As I have mentioned in an earlier post, we have left the naming responsibility to our friend Abbey who witnessed hubby and I meeting for the first time when we were in college. Katie was named after the mutual friend who actually introduced us. A few weeks ago Abbey emailed us a list of boy names and I think there is actually one we like and have even found a matching Chinese name for it. The name is Sean and the Chinese character is 順 which is typically part of the phrase for bon voyage or to have a good journey. There are currently no objections from hubby mainly because he hasn’t decided on anything better...haha... We are still a bit reserve on the name; nonetheless, we will decide for sure by the time his baby shower comes around on June 26th.
The aunties, my sisters and sister-in-law have generously offered to throw us a baby shower scheduled for June 26th. There isn't much we need as we have bought and kept Katie's stuff mutual and intact knowing we would be expecting another little one in the future. Although, we can’t resist a party before we really dive into baby hell, I mean another fun parenting adventure of constant interrupted sleep. Fun…fun! Also, we have to give this baby his opportunity to rack up gifts for himself such as very useful diaper cakes and maybe even a few bucks to start his own college fund :o) But for us parents, we just can’t wait to party!

So exciting! Congrats to you both!
ReplyDeleteI feel ya with the punching. That was Daisy. None of that undulating, just full-on, trying to push out the side of my stomach. I spent most of the 3rd trimester with my right hand permanently parked on the right side of my stomach to prevent her from coming out one side (at least that's how it felt!)
ReplyDeleteGlad things are going well, though. I like Sean, by the way. Seems to suit you guys.
