Last night, after a couple slices of pizza, the baby inside started to dance around striking punches and jabs in all direction. But of course as soon as I told the Daddy to come and feel, the action halted. So, I had him sit still and keep his hand on my belly while I drink some water (room temperature) and sure enough, Yogi felt a jab in the corner, probably from one of the legs.
I have been feeling the baby’s movements for weeks now but none was detectable from the outside until last night. It is an amazing feeling to be able to share the miracles of a growing human being inside with others on the outside. Katie also seems very curious and interested in touching and feeling my belly. She usually feels for the baby, gives it a kiss and then pulls my shirt over to cover the belly once she’s done. It’s the cutest thing.
Besides the movements, the baby and I are doing well. The belly is growing of course and starting to get in the way of me going about my day. I've had to walk slower to avoid cramps, eat slower to avoid heart burn, drive safer to avoid turning into a crazy driver, you name it. I bought two pairs of shoes this past weekend for my growing feet. I bet it is starting to swell again so best to lay low on the salts…which is a tough one for me but a must should I not want to continue buying shoes. Otherwise, I'm sleeping well and even better after a long day of running around town or just the house behind the 18 month munchkin on the outside.
And finally the count down continues as a we get closer to March 5th, the day we'll be getting an ultrasound to check the baby's growth and possibily the sex. Woo hoo, just a short week and a half away!!
